SIWA OASIS :
Birket Zeitun
Far fewer visit the lake of Birket Zeitun than Birket Siwa. The reason
is simple, it is not as visually impressive. The surrounding landscape
is fairly flat.
There are several villages along the northern shore of the lake, all
made from prefab material, making it all look quite tragic compared to
the sweet irregularity of the town of Siwa. But there some really fine
palm groves here, several pools, and friendly people not as spoiled with
seeing foreigners as the central Siwans.
