Re: Egypt Tour – GEE Family.
Hi Raed,
I must start this letter by saying we all enjoyed the tour,
loved seeing your country, and hearing its amazing history.
But there are a few issues/things we would like to pass on
to you.
Starting from when we arrived in Cairo, the gentleman you
sent to the airport to meet us, lovely man, very helpful and
he made entering Egypt so easy for us. Please pass on our
thanks to him.
The Hotel President was not quite what we expected, but it
was comfortable, the staff were friendly and we had a room
with a view etc. for the first two nights. Its location was
charming too.
Our last two nights there were less than satisfactory, the
room was of a lower standard not very comfortable at all,
which was disappointing way to end the tour.
Our tour guide for the first day, Ahmed Mahmoud Hassan is a
great guide, friendly and very knowledgeable of Egyptian
history, we all enjoy his company. The man who drove us
around this day was a good, careful driver, in a pretty good
vehicle too. Please pass on our thanks.
The over-night train to Aswan was ok, only Leanne and the
boys got sick from the food eaten on the train. Its was very
late leaving and I guess the food had been sitting around to
long...
Our guide for the Lower Egypt tour Khaled Mostafa El Howary
warmed to us all as the days passed, he made time for us to
look at almost every tomb and temple in Lower Egypt, and we
have about 3,500 to 4,000 photos to prove it. His knowledge
and connection to this part of Egypt flowed through to us
and we did enjoy this part of the tour very much. Khaled’s
assistance with additions to our quite days were great, and
this helped round off the tour. Again, the drivers who drove
us around were polite and careful drivers, in good vehicles,
thanks to them.
The cruise on the Monaco was great, the kids loved it,
Leanne loved it, and I loved it, but it should have been
longer, next time may be!!! The crew were friendly and
helpful, a good time had by all.
The return trip on the train from Luxor to Cairo was better,
the person who met us at the station was a little difficult
to understand, but he did get us to the vehicle taking us to
Bahriya Oasis. The driver taking us was ok, but we would
have preferred some commentary along the way, as it was a
long drive.
I have to say at this point, this vehicle was not up to
standard for a trip of this length. I was quite unwell and
nauseous on the trip going out and the return in this
vehicle, it was not comfortable at all.
The trip into the desert was great, and is easily one of the
highlights of our tour. Mahmoud was a good driver and the
other man (his name escapes me) was friendly and
informative. Their hospitality in the desert was a lovely
touch to a great experience, please thanks these young men
again for us.
The return as mentioned above was not good for me, and there
was probably to much vehicle travel for one day. As I also
mentioned the room at the Hotel President was not up to the
standard of the room we had on our earlier stay.
I would strongly suggest if you offer similar day trips for
people to Alexandria then the train would be a better
option. We spent 4 – 4.5 hours traveling up to Alexandria,
and 4.5 – 5 hours traveling back which only left 3 – 4 hours
looking around Alexandria. All the reports I have read,
suggest the express train trip is not too bad; this was why
I had requested the train to Alexandria.
Apart from the travel is was a great day, thanks again to
Ahmed, he is a lovely guide and very passionate about his
Egypt, our boys hung of his every word. It would have been
even better to have had more time in Alexandria, as there
were many other interesting sites to see.
Over all we had a good tour of your lovely country, there
are a few things we would do differently next time, like
less vehicle travel, be more selective with hotels etc. but
I have no complaint or issue with your company or the great
tour guides we had.
Thanks Raed, I am sure my family will remember this trip for
a long time, and even though we did not meet, the tour ran
smoothly enough for us all.
I/we would be happy to recommend your company and this tour
to anyone traveling to Egypt, as the service offered to a
small group (family) was great, as I said at the beginning,
from the gentleman who met us at the airport, to all the
guides, they all made our trip very memorable, thanks.

Minamar Hostel Cairo March 2009
In the beginning of March I went to Cairo with my
mother. We booked the Minamar hotel and a trip to the
dessert, organised by Minamar. The holiday was great; one we
will never forget!!
The people working at the hotel we very friendly and they
have done everything to make us feel home. Everything was
good organised by Abdallah and every morning a good
breakfast and helping hand by Addy and Mustafa. The last
evening we had a diner on the Nile, organised by the hotel.
This was very nice and entertaining! The rooms are good, but
basic. With a view of the Egyptian museum the location of
the hotel is great!!
The trip to de desert was very well organised and an
incredible nice experience. The guides and the driver did a
great job!

Caro Raed, finalmente riesco a scriverti, il viaggio
di ritorno è andato bene, a Betty la valigia è
arrivata solo ieri.... ma Alitalia ormai funziona
così.
Come eravamo d'accordo ti invio le ns impressioni di
viaggio, come sai il mio lavoro mi porta ad essere
abbastanza severa, considerato che la materia che
insegno è: Reception e pratica di Agenzia di viaggio.
Ovviamente dal punto di vista archeologico e
naturalistico la parte di Egitto visitata è molto bella, ci
sono piaciute molto più le oasi nel deserto che le città,
ma penso sia così un pò per tutti!!
L'organizzazione è stata ottima, siamo stati seguiti da
Voi sempre e di questo Vi ringraziamo, posso solo darti
qualche consiglio??
Hotel Happy City al Cairo molto sporco e non adeguato
forse ai turisti italiani
Le guide che ci hanno seguito :
Monir abbastanza buono, poteva evitare la "fregatura"
che ci ha rifilato l'ultimo giorno, abbiamo fatto finta
di niente, quando si viaggia succede anche questo, fa
parte del gioco.. ma farci pagare 2 pacchetti di tabacco
che costano L.E. 32 a 15 euro l'una mi è sembrato un pò
eccessivo......
La guida di Alessandria . Ahmed - stesso discorso pranzo
in ristorante ha pagato lui il conto e si è fatto dare €
12,50 a persona da noi,per 1 pranzo che sarà costato
forse 4 € a persona, ok fa parte del gioco facciamo i
finti tonti...però peccato perchè guastano l'impegno di
tutti gli altri che sono stati eccezionali:
ABDULLAH la guida nel deserto bianco, non lo
dimenticheremo mai per la simpatia, la preparazione e
l'impegno che ha profuso per farci stare al meglio
SALE l'autista del deserto bianco, simpatico, gentile,
disponibile!!!!
ATIF che ci seguito da Mersa Matruh ad Alexandria fino
al Cairo, un ragazzo eccezionale, ottimo guidatore,
riservato gentile e disponibile.. tutti i nostri
complimenti!!!!
E infine Raed che ci ha organizzato questo viaggio, in
modo impeccabile, a parte il mare dove faceva freddo, ha
però fatto di tutto per farci stare nel miglior modo
possibile poi,ci fanno ricordare questo ns soggiorno in
Egitto come un periodo nel quale abbiamo vissuto grandi
emozioni.. la notte nel Deserto, la bellezza di Siwa, le
Piramidi del Cairo, le tombe di Alessandria, le piramidi
di Saqqara, la cena in battello sul Nilo, la commozione
del Sacrario di El Alamein

e spero di sentirci presto per l'organizzazione del

Treza- thought you might like to get some feedback @ our
recent trip to the western desert with Minamar:
- Our Guide "Mido" was terrific! Very personable,
professional, patient, and knowledgeable - loved him!
- Our cook Islam was great too!
- Our desert driver was a little nuts driving in town, but
very friendly and didn't tip us over in the desert!
- The hotels were all very good (except some of the pillows
are hard as bricks, like everywhere else we stayed)
(We appreciated the changeover from the El Gnoom to the
Bedouin Village Oasis - what a great place!)
- The desert camping was fabulous!
(A couple of suggestions: more padding under the sleeping
bags, better sleeping bags (mine had a broken zipper, so
very difficult to open & close), and my friend's blanket
smelled really bad!)
- It might be a good idea to let women know that the hot
springs are completely exposed (no privacy) so to be
prepared for that (I wasn't)
- The itinerary was excellent, and Mido was very
accommodating: when one site was closed, to offer another to
see instead.
- We only wish he could have been our guide in Luxor too!!
- We would recommend Minamar to anyone interested in
traveling thru the Western Desert Oases. Please feel free to
use these comments on your website.

Thanks to you, this holiday was one of the most memorable
trips of my life. Egyptian hospitality must be the best in
the entire world! If reincarnation could be real, I feel as
if perhaps in a former life, I must have been lucky enough
to have been Egyptian.
Please thank Mr. Hendy Taha for the lovely pastries and tell
him that I have shared them with my fellow teachers who are
very interested in travelling to Cairo next year. I hope
they will take advantage of Minamar's excellent services and
enjoy the same kind of fantastic holiday that I was so

can not tell you what an amazing time we had. The
hospitality of the staff at your company is amazing. Mostafa
our guide had more energy than any of us and put out so much
information... he was unbelievable. Somehow we were able to
add in even more tours and events which she happily assisted
us in.
All accommodations were far more than expected we were
treated incredibly well. I was surprised to be remembered by
several your staff and even several crew members of the
cruise ship.. All of the transportation, transfers and tours
were flawless. I was treated to some VERY nice upgrades
allowing for some great in room cocktail parties for our
group.
I believe that now that I have some references I can and
will look forward to putting together another group. I will
send a request for dates and itinerary soon and see what we
can do. I will soon send you an evaluation of our tour with
any suggestions from my group to assist you in continuing to
provide an incredible vacation.

desert tour with Hassam as tour leader. Out drivers Salah
(wolf), Trevor (cheeky) and Frank were the best and Cookie
managed to surprise us every night. The only thing that
would have improved the tour would have been if we had been
able to stay longer. Hope you forward this message onto the

Sufficient time at all sites but a slightly slower peace at
Egyptian Museum would have been good. Pleasing that the

this very off putting so was pleased Mustafa respected this.

Siwa Kharga Desert safari
Excellent Organization at all stages. Hotels Siwa inn,
Minamar hotel, Hamadalla new camp (resort) of good standard
through out-Mobarez not so great but others had good
services and room quality.
Our driver was very good ,safe, skilled ,prompt and good
cook.
It was great that we make an unplanned stop at the
commonweth war cemetery in Alamein .We thank him and the
company for a thoroughly memorable and enjoyable trip

Dear friend, we are sorry to be so late to give some news
from us, and to thank you for the very nice welcome we had
in your hotel. We have very much enjoyed our trip around
Egypt, we have seen so wonderful archeological sites, but
our heart bends for the deserts and the oasis, and your
kindness too. Thank you, Mohamed, for your welcome; you and
all our staff too. We remember the drinks and the cakes
before leaving the oasis, the had a nice road to Cairo. Now,
we are fighting against snow...We send you some photos taken
in Egypt and some others from France where we live now. We
