Day 1- Hurghada - Luxor
Transfer from Hurghada to Luxor, and then visit the Karnak Temples, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu.
Then proceed to the Temple Of Luxor, which was built by Amunhotep
III in 18th Dynasty in the New Kingdom and was completed by Ramses II during the 19th Dynasty. It was
also dedicated to the
great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu, together
representing the Theban triad. The temple is famous for its Obelisk
of Ramses II in front of the 1st Pylon.
Next enjoy the Valley of the Kings and the magnificence of
the architecture used for burial. The most known tombs are
of King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, King Ramses VI,
King Mrenptah and Amonhotep II.
Then enjoy the masterpieces of the ancient Egyptian tombs of Nefertarie, wife of Ramses II, and the Temple of Queen
Hatshipsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt about 20 years during the 18th
Dynasty (1490—1469 B.C.), the only pharaonic woman who reigned
ancient Egypt.
Day 2- Luxor - Aswan
In the morning travel to Aswan to visit the High Dam, an
engineering miracle built in 1960 to protect Egypt from annual
floods from the Nile. Proceed to visit the Unfinished Obelisk,
which shows the techniques used by the ancient Egyptians to cut
obelisks. This obelisk most likely belonged to Queen Hatshepsut,
one of the rulers of the 18th dynasty and the royal wife of king
Tuthmosis II. This queen was the owner of Al Deir El-Bahari
temple in the eastern bank of Luxor. However, some believe it
belonged to Queen Nefertiti. Afterwards, visit the majestic Philae
Temple which was built to honor the goddess Isis, the
chief deity of the island.
